Mk 1 Bedini SG Energiser

This is my MkI energizer. Learned opinion has it that the rotor is too heavy and doesn’t have sufficient magnets to work ‘properly’ i.e. it won’t spin fast enough. It will shortly be modified from a three magnet device to an eight magnet one and used mainly for battery recovery/ re-conditioning duties.

What’s this I can hear a whole load of you asking, or at least what has it got to do with the rest of this web page?

A fair question I suppose, our simple reply is that it has to do with lead acid batteries and what can be done with them. A 'fringe' benefit of this process is that it will desulfate a battery and the subject is of great interest to us.

John Bedini has been working in what is sometimes known as the ‘free energy’ field for 35 years now. He would be amongst the first to correct this description as he would describe himself as involved with ‘Free Radiant Energy’ which is not the same thing i.e. he is harnessing a form of energy little understood by the most of us.

Mk 2 Bedini SG Energiser

This is my MkII energizer and the one that will be the test bed. It is based on the Bedini SG project specifications and consists of a 179mm diameter x 18mm thick MDF rotor with 10 off 0.7 x 0.2” Grade 5 ceramic magnets inset (this to reduce drag) mounted on an 8mm shaft running in two off 608ZZ skateboard bearings. The coil is bifilar wound on a former the wire was supplied on and consists of 1000 bifilar turns of SWG24 and SWG26 enameled copper wire. The core is stuffed with 2.5mm diameter copper coated welding rods (should be nearer 1.0mm). The main circuit components are a 2N3055, 1N4001, 1N4007, NE2 neon and a 680R resistor. All wiring is 12AWG gauge and all connections soldered wherever possible.

It has however been ‘known’ about for some considerable time. If you carry out a Google search on 'Radiant Energy' the name of Nikola Tesla will keep bouncing back at you.

We're not going to go jumping on any of the popular conspiracy theory jaunts here but it does seem strange that a number of, what appear to be, irrefutable public demonstrations of an energy source outwith 'conventional' understanding have not been progressed in the century since.

The pictures you see opposite show the ‘energizers’ progressing through development stages.

There is much debate in learned circles as to whether this device (when working properly) is an ‘overunity’ device or not. For ourselves we have seen an increase in a batteries capacity to do work of 67% on these small energisers. This remarkable event in itself was achieved under less than ideal circumstances.

John Bedini states that a percentage of the energy is used in driving the wheel which needs to be factored in to the equation. This being a given and noting that it also is doing work i.e. lighting lamps and the rest of the circuit is also charging up to four output batteries as well would certainly appear to add up to a system with a total greater than 100%.

We've now 'scaled up' from what you see here to investigate the effects on much larger batteries.

A number of people have apparently 'failed' to achieve what they were expecting. This appears to be because they don't appear to understand that the process mainfests itself in the batteries being treated.

The weird thing is that the amount of current required to drive the rotor goes DOWN when you bring the generator in to play or add a load.

Even weirder is that the rotor doesn’t appear to be strictly necessary for the battery charging side of things. If the coil and associated electronics are used on their own, or with the the application of a magnet on the top and bottom of the coil, induces self resonance and the charging process still takes place.

Mk 2 Bedini SG Energiser with trifilar coil

This is a further development of the MkII in that here it is now fitted with a trifilar coil. This is driven by 2 off 2N3055's and uses SCR's rather than output diodes. The rotor is fitted with 1 x 3/4 x 1/4" magnets 3 deep at 8 points around the circumference. It is a fairly advanced SG energiser in this form.

The following is a quote from Peter Lindemann

“A great many variables contribute to the "charging efficiency" of the various battery chemistries. The greatest LOSS mechanisms in the lead based battery during the recharge process are 1) HEAT production, and 2) Hydrogen production. This is true for both gel electrolyte and flooded cell designs. Both of these losses are greatly reduced when the battery is charged with "radiant energy".

But beyond this, other benefits to the battery routinely accrue. The most noticeable is the re-absorbtion of sulfate crystals and the extremely fine replating of the active material on the positive plate.

After a number of discharge/charge cycles, the plates in the battery revert to a "like new" condition and the total surface area on the positive plate actually increases. This produces extended run-times during subsequent discharge cycles.

All of these benefits, while remarkable, fall within a reasonably "normal" range of behavior. But there is more. There seems to be another effect that builds up in the battery and is most noticeable when the battery is constantly cycled (charged and discharged daily). What happens is that the battery simply recharges in less time without increasing the charging rate.”
